What we collect

atpesa collects account and contact details, the content you share, and records of support payments. We may ask for verification details before you can receive payments. If you sign in through another service, it shares your name, email and account identifier with us.

How we use and share information

We use this information to run accounts and pages, process payments, send receipts and updates you opt in to, and investigate reports or suspected fraud. We measure site usage to improve atpesa. Service providers help with sign-in, hosting, payments, email and usage measurement. Some process data outside Kenya. Access to private records is restricted to people who need it for their work.

We use the last day a signed-in account used atpesa to count daily and monthly active accounts. This respects your browser’s Do Not Track setting.

Embedded intro videos load when you visit a support page that has one. When an embedded video loads, its provider can receive connection information such as your IP address.

Ads on blog articles

Blog articles may show ads from Google. Google and its advertising partners may use cookies or similar technologies to serve and measure ads. Where a consent prompt applies, you can make your choices there. Read how Google handles this data in its partner sites privacy notice.

What other people can see

The content you publish is visible to visitors. Anyone with the link can open an unlisted page. Supporters can hide their name from the public page, though the amount may still appear. Supporters’ contact details stay off public pages. Page owners can see records for payments to their own pages, which can include a supporter’s email address and M-Pesa phone number. Payment credentials stay private.

Retention and your rights

We keep information for as long as needed to run the service, meet legal obligations and resolve disputes. You can unsubscribe from update emails using the link in the email.
